The Deputy Senate president Dr. Ike Ekweremadu has been hailed as a role model in the politics of the South-East.

In an interview with newsmen in his office, Hon. Sam Ugwa, the senior legislative aide to the Deputy Senate President, noted that the activities of his boss are unrivalled in the annals of the Senate representation for the South-East.

Recent killings

Hon. Ugwa noted that as the highest ranking leader of the Igbo in the present political dispensation today, he has led by example with the manner he handled the recent killings in Enugu State by the Fulani herdsmen.

He pointed out that he not only visited the scene of the incident, but has been in the vanguard for a peaceful solution with his series of meetings with the South-East governors, which had led to the governors speaking with one voice to avoid the repeat of the ugly incident.

On the forth-coming birthday celebration this week of the Deputy Senate President, Ugwa wished the South-East leader a great celebration.
