ASABA—DELTA State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday held a consensus State Congress with Barrister Kingsley Esiso emerging as its State Chairman and Mr Val Areyinka as State Deputy Chairman.

The Congress which was held amidst tight security at the Cenotaph  in Asaba, the State capital, was peaceful and orderly and saw the emergence of the full complement of the state exco.

The Congress which commenced at 12:39 after Senator James Manager moved a motion for the dissolution of the Chief Edwin Uzor led Executive had Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, his Deputy, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro and other top government functionaries in attendance.

The new chairman, Barrister Kingsley Esiso in his acceptance  speech, said the State PDP governorship ticket would remain in the Delta North Senatorial district till 2023, saying that; “ I will respect the zoning formula of the party.”
