Senator Ike Ekweremadu

ENUGU—THE former Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Council, Augustine Nnamani yesterday emerged as the new chairman of the PDP in Enugu State. Also elected were Cletus Akalusi, Secretary and other members of the state executive committee of the party.
Addressing the delegates, the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu expressed happiness that there is now genuine peace and harmony among stakeholders of the party in the state and called for cooperation of all to enable the new party exco and the state government to succeed.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of the party, Augustine Nnamani thanked all party leaders and faithful for electing him and his new executive without rancour.
The electoral officer from the PDP national secretariat, Alhaji Ibrahim Bashir had earlier commended party faithful for the peaceful conduct of the ward and local government congresses in the state
