OWERRI—The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, congress did not eventually hold yesterday in Imo State.

Vanguard gathered that the electoral materials arrived late in the state and could not be distributed to all the electoral wards.

Armed with this scenario, the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Sergeant Awuse, invited all the major stakeholders in the state, explained the situation to them and they were unanimous that the exercise be postponed for 24 hours.

They also approved the distribution of non-sensitive materials to the electoral wards.

However, PDP loyalists were seen in their numbers at the various polling booths, waiting patiently for the election materials and officers.

At press time, some of the party men, who did not understand the absence of the officials, said unprintable things against the party.
