UMUAHIA—THE Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has condemned what it called the struggle for supremacy in the structure of the Independent People of Biafra led by detained Nnamdi Kanu, saying that it was not healthy for the group.

MASSOB has therefore dismissed the alleged divisive activities of an elder statesman, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, saying he was not genuinely fighting for the interest of the Biafran struggle.

MASSOB, in a statement signed by the National Director of Information, Comrade Samuel Edeson described Ikedife’s activities in the struggle as “a virus and questionable”, alleging that he has been fraternizing with President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

“MASSOB wishes to clarify itself on the supremacy claims by Nnamdi Kanu’s led IPOB & Rtd Justice Eze Ozobu led Supreme Council of Elders of IPOB which has brought no good to Biafran struggle. It is understandable that there are many groups agitating for the restoration of Biafra through their different methods, approaches and applications.

“This is because the integrity and genuineness of some of the groups are questionable as some elements among them do not show true spirit of Biafra. Dr. Dozie Ikedife of Supreme Council of Elders of IPOB is among them. MASSOB sees Dr. Dozie Ikedife as a threat to the aspirations of the Supreme Council of Elders because of his open and systematic political romances with the Buhari-led administration.

“Dr. Dozie Ikedife as executive member of Supreme Council of Elders [allegedly] led some Igbo elders to congratulate Buhari in Aso villa when he emerged as President. Again, as one who claims to be an Indigenous person of Biafra, he has never condemned or spoken against the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu; the killings of unarmed and non-violent Biafran demonstrators and several human rights abuses against Nnamdi Kanu by the Buhari led administration.

“General Joe Achuzia, who is the Secretary General of Supreme Council of Elders of IPOB and other respected Igbo elders, have severally spoken out against the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the killings of Biafra agitators and other injustices meted against us,” the group said.
