I want to share my experience, technique with the world – Remi Owadokun

Today, more books are read on mobile devices like phones and tablets. This has created the need for e-books. More books are now sold online than hard copies. Amazon is the biggest online booksellers in the world and it recently named a Nigerian a number one best seller.

The author, Remi Owadokun is one of the foremost weight loss and healthy living consultants in the country. The half Brazilian half Nigerian, had battled her own weight earlier in her life but used a technique she created by herself to lose the weight.

Today, she teaches people all around the world this same technique and has become popular for it. Remi however is making headlines not for her weight loss programme but as an author. Her book,  How I lost 40 kg: the journey that changed my lifehas just been named number one best seller on Amazon. The book is the only Nigerian book to reach such selling status.

In a chat with her she says about her book, “It is indeed an amazing privilege, considering it was barely available to the Nigerian audience due to Amazon’s Country restriction. Becoming an Amazon bestselling Author to a mostly international audience is very encouraging.”

Speaking about the motivation for the book she says, “In 2013, I weighed 110kg, I was grossly overweight, suffered from low self esteem, suffered from fat related diseases to the other (Migraines, pre-diabetes, hormonal imbalance) and one day I was sick and tired of living such a low quality lifestyle and decided it was time for permanent change.

It took me 10 months to lose 40kg, I did not have a personal trainer, was not enrolled to the gym so I spent so much time doing trial and error. I did not know what to eat, what not to eat, how to exercise and what was best to do. I spent a lot of time and money experimenting on all the safe and natural methods. I wrote the book because I wanted to share my experience and technique with the world.”

Remi is a Certified Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the biggest Nutrition School in the world. She considers herself a suitcase entrepreneur.
