Hails Oshiomhole’s commitment to nation-building

THE Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has commissioned  a police barrack equipped with air conditioners and other modern facilities constructed by the Edo State government at Iyoha, in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

The IGP, who described the building a state-of-the-art barrack, expressed his gratitude to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, just as he appealed to well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organizations to take a cue  from the Edo State government, saying that the business of securing the country is the responsibility of all.

“What Edo State government has given us is not just as barrack but a functional barrack. That  is  the human aspect of it. Secondly, we will now be able to use the men that are posted in this barrack to lock down the high way between here and Lokoja which has become very serious security threat to the nation,”Arase stated.

“So we are using both the comfort of our officers and also the security imperative of the nation putting both of them together. I am very excited, I am grateful to the Comrade Governor for having the interest of the Nigerian government and the police at heart.

“We are also appealing to corporate organizations, public spirited Nigerians to be able to reach out to us the way the Comrade Governor has reached out to us today. They say to whom much is given, much is expected. The Comrade Governor has done much for us. I am sure officers that will come and stay in  this conducive home will have no choice than to give their best to Nigerians that have done so much for them.  It is a state-of- the-art facility”.

Speaking earlier,  Oshiomhole  explained that “what we have here one side of the block was intended for the rank and file, then for the officers we have two two bed room flats”. The governor added: “We have two- bedroom unit in each block and then we have a four-bed room unit for the commander. My intention like I told the contractor was to do something very good”.
