Awka—THE Presidential Committee on Flood, Relief and Rehabilitation has visited Anambra State during which it monitored the distribution of relief materials to the victims of the 2012 and 2015 flood disaster that affected six local government areas in the state.
Materials distributed to the victims include roofing sheets, bags of rice, maize, cement, among other items.
Leader of the team, Mr. John Owoicho said during the exercise in Awka that the measures adopted by Anambra was the best among the states affected by the disaster and commended the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA.
He said SEMA adopted a rancour-free method in sharing the items, urging other states to emulate Anambra.
