Edo community alleges neglect by state govt

BENIN—EME-ORA community in  Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State has lamented  its neglect by the state government in terms of provision of social amenities such as potable water, access roads and electricity.

Head of Eme-Ora community, Chief E. Orhewere and pioneer Secretary General of Eme-Ora Progress Union, EPU, who spoke for the community at this year’s national convention of the body, said that past and current administrations in the state had neglected the community but only remembers it during elections.

He said that the only secondary school in the locality which pre-dates Nigeria’s independence had produced men and women that have contributed to the economic development of the country.
