BENIN—A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Mr Okharedia Ihimikpen, has told the governorship aspirant of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu that criticizing Governor Adams Oshiomhole will not give him the party’s ticket, rather he should tell the people of the state what he will do if he emerges the party’s candidate.

Ihimikpen also lampooned Ize-Iyamu over his comment that he was the only PDP aspirant that criticizes Oshiomhole, said, “He was the same man who said no man is God, when he was SSG during Lucky Igbinedion’s administration. He said Anenih was not God and led the rebellion against his own party then. Has Anenih become God now that he is in the PDP?

“He even lacks the moral justification to criticize Oshiomhole because he was in ACN when those things he was condemning Oshiomhole for happened. So he does not need to condemn Oshiomhole. Ize-Iyamu must apologize to the PDP for running the party down when he was in ACN, otherwise he will fail.

“He is the least qualified in the party because he has made anti-party activity an act of valour. For him to come now to say he never decamped, that he was deregistered, is a lie. Nobody was deregistered at that time. I recall that at the time, the national body of the PDP came to Edo and requested that everybody should go to his polling unit to register. He did not go, he wanted to be registered at Government House. He considers himself superior to anybody.”
