Mgbolu
Former spokesman of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, Mr. Austin Mgbolu has turned down his purported appointment into the Match Commissioners Appointment Committee by the controversial Chris Giwa-led Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
Reacting to his appointment on phone from Abuja yesterday, Mgbolu thanked the factional NFF for considering him fit enough for such appointment but stressed that he could not accept any appointment from a divided organisation.
“I thank them for considering me for an appointment from among millions of Nigerians but I cannot accept an appointment from an organisation divided against itself. I have an antecedent having worked in the same organisation that was united.,” he said.
He stressed that “I can only work in an organisation that is not only united but has leaders who have vision to drive Nigerian football to great heights.”
But of truth is that I’m humbled by the recognition that I have something to contribute to Nigeria football unlike the other people who claim to know it all. I am neither for Pinnick nor Amaju. I will root for Nigerian football, so cannot serve under this divided house now. I wish them all the luck in their enterprise.
