Publisher of an online newspaper, The Trent, Aziza Uko has accused the Chief Press Secretary to Information Minister, Joseph Mutah, is harassing her over a story she posted on her medium on the 30th of March .

She said, “We published a news release from Lai Mohammed’s office yesterday. Only for Joe Mutah, who works for Lai Mohammed, to call me that the headline is misleading, I happen to have personally read the press release he mailed to us so I didn’t see anything misleading about the headline and I told him so. He dropped the call.
“A few minutes later I saw an email threat from him. I happened to be awake and online. I fired off a reply spontaneous. Threats and intimidation are not tools of governance in a democracy.
In life, one should not feel like they know everything or they are always right. So this morning, I shared it with a circle of friends for advice, asking if they thought our headline was misleading and if they thought my response was appropriate.
Some of them work in the media and must have leaked the conversation out to the press. I began to get enquirers from journalists. I had to tell the truth about what happened.
I could forward you the emails if you really want to do a story.” She said.
