More than 40,000 spectators witnessed the encounter between the Super Eagles and the Pharaohs of Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Friday evening. It is envisaged that 20,000 Egyptian fans will be permitted into the Borg El Arab Stadium on Tuesday to cheer their national team as they take on the Eagles in the return leg of the double header 2017 Afcon qualifiers.
The Egyptian FA had written to the government to increase the number of spectators to be allowed into the stadium from 10,000 to 20,000 and the request was approved.
This means the coach Samson Siasia tutored team have to be at their best to overcome the expected tantrums from the overzealous Egyptian soccer fans known for their vociferous and indefatigable nature. Already, tickets for the encounter have been sold out.
