Apprehension in Kogi over murder of community leader

Uneasy calm pervades Mopamuro Local Government Area over the murder of a community leader and former Councillor who represented in Okagi/Ayede Amuro Ward, Hon. Oluwole, a.k.a Serebe. He was murdered at Ahunrun, the ancestral home of the Okagi people.

Sources informed Vanguard that the sad event happened in the early hours of Thursday March 10, 2016 when the former Councillor ran into a gang of daredevil Fulani herdsmen who were alleged to have been disturbing the peace of the communities in Mopamuro in the last few months.

Inside sources said the attach was unprovoked but that the gang just finished robbing some victims when the late politician ran into them.

Hearing the news, youths of the community went berserk, safe for the calming influence of the traditional ruler of the community, HRH. Oba Dele Obasa who warned the youths against taking the laws in their hands. He said the security agents are capable of getting to the roots of the matter.

Also, police authorities in the area promised to unravel the mystery behind the heist committed by the Fulani herdsmen.
