The excitement was all over her as she told the story of how she won the brand new car in the Mamador Cook and Cruise promo. The most intriguing part of her story is that  the jar of Mamador oil  which won her the car was given to her as  Christmas gift by her madam who is her Pastor’s wife She also said she warned her son against wasting her airtime when he told her he wanted to enter for the promo for her after reading a label on the body of the jerrycan.

“My madam gave me a jar of Mamador oil 3.8 litres for the last Christmas. When I brought the gift to the house, my 12 –year-old son came in and said, this Mamador oil people are on promo, they are on promo and I want you to win this car for my birthday, bring your phone let me text this code to them, and I shouted at him and said, don’t use my phone to text anything to anywhere,”

Mrs Ogboma who hails from Omoku in Rivers state said she reechoed her warning to the son not to waste her airtime on the promo issue.” I warned him again not to touch my phone. But my son said the car was for me. And he asked me if I would not want to drive a brand new car. I shouted at him again to leave my phone alone. I did not know when he sneaked into the toilet with my phone and the jar of oil, scratched what I did not  know on the body of the jar and forwarded something to a certain code I did not know and came out.

The following day, I was surprised to receive a text message from Mamador, acknowledging receipt of my entry,  that was when it dawned on me that the boy sent the text to them.

On January 26, this year, I got a call from Mamador asking If I was the owner of a phone number they called I said yes, and they said, you’ve just won one of our grand prizes in the Mamador Cook and Criuse promo, a Hyundai Accent car, I was surprised, I shouted, poverty N-t- o -o -o –o- o- o!, poverty n-t-o-o-o-o-o-o!!.”, someway of deriding poverty. The winner of the new car further lauded Mamador oil and the management, saying they had changed her status with the promo.

General Manager, Marketing,  of the producing firm, Mrs Kola Buki Bamidele  spoke glowingly of the product adding that they came up with the promo to reward consumers. She said the promo started in September last year and ended January this year with about 333 persons winning different prizes, adding that the three brand new Hyundai Accent cars were won by customers in Akure, Lagos and Port Harcourt.

“Three persons won one million naira cash prize in Lagos, Benin and Abuja, while the 330 others won cash prizes of N30, 000 , N10,000 and N5,000 each
