ABA—THE Vice Chancellor, Rhema University, Prof. Ogbonnaya Onwudike has reiterated the institution’s commitment to raising youths with quality education and the fear of God in the face of swelling moral and educational decadence.

Onwudike who disclosed this in an interview with journalists after the sixth Matriculation ceremony of the university in Aba last Saturday said that the institution would take the place of the parents of the students who enrolled in the institution and would give students every available help to make them excel as ones God committed to their care.

He said: “It is our solemn resolve to train and produce men and women equipped with good education, strong character and integrity; men and women who with the fear of God, can stand the test of time and be role models.

“We know and understand what parents want for their children and we want to mould these children into individuals who will make you proud and not bring shame.

“As a Christian University, we are therefore committed to high moral and academic standards in line with our motto -Equipping Humanity for Excellence.”

Onwudike who said that the set was the university’s sixth stressed that the number six is very significant spiritually noting that God rested on the sixth day after breathing into the nose of man.

He therefore called on the set to be perfect, hardworking, God-fearing, lead others to light and to life which qualities he said six had incorporated into it in order to excel and not to be the
opposite.

“We thank God for helping us thus far. It was a very small beginning but God is helping us to go to greater heights. We enrolled only one person in the Banking and Finance department this year because may be some of the persons that applied were not found qualified and we could not deny the only qualified person admission” he said

Prof Onwudike said that “The department is one of those we have affiliation with professional bodies. We have affiliation to the Chartered Institute of Bankers”,

He said that the university enrolled 48 students during the 2014 / 2015 session but has added 6 more students in the 2015 / 2016 session to take the number of Matriculating students to 54 which shows that it is growing.

He said that university which became fully licensed on August 26, 2015 has 8 out of its 9 courses granted full accreditation from National Universities Commission while one has interim accreditation status.
