UMUAHIA—ABIA State chapter of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, yesterday appealed to candidates and political parties involved in next month’s Abia North Senatorial and other State Assembly re-run elections to abide by the rules of the game and put the interest of the state first during and after the contest.
Addressing a press conference in Umuahia, shortly after meeting with INEC leadership in the State, ahead of the re-run elections in Abia North Senatorial district and seven state constituency seats, IPAC urged them to consider the peace of the State above personal interest.
The State Chairman of IPAC, Chief Emeka Okafor said: “We as a group, have met with the state Residence Electoral Commissioner ahead of the various elections coming up in the state and we agreed to work together for the unity and progress of the state to ensure the smoothness of the election.
