LAGOS—Vice Chancellor, Lagos State Universitiy, Professor Lanre Fagbohun, has said information gap is the bane of past administrations, saying there is need to bridge the gap which caused friction in past.
He made this known at a two- day retreat with the theme; Fostering Community-wide Quality Assurance in Lagos State University for Efficient Service Delivery and Academic Excellence. The retreat was aimed at building a consensus among stakeholders in LASU on quality standards for teaching, research, community engagement and service delivery.
His words; “This retreat is to develop an action plan to foster quality culture in academic, administrative and technical service delivery, initiate the process of developing a quality assurance manual for the varsity and to initiate a plan for elevating the global ranking of the varsity.
“My vision is to ensure that LASU achieves excellence such that by the next global or national ranking, it would come out tops. LASU, like every other institutions, has challenges, so it is not that we are not forward going but gap in information.”
Speaking on the theme, Prof. Peter Okebukola said: “Quality assurance and control are two key ingredients needed in the operation and success of the varsity system.”
