LOKOJA—Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has given the go-ahead for the immediate payment of workers’ salaries, contrary to his earlier directive that the workers should be screened before payment of October 2015 salary arrears.

Bello, who made this known in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kingsley Fanwo, said the directive for the immediate payment of workers’ salaries in the state was in line with the governor’s desire to put smiles on the workers faces and encourage productivity.

Bello, in the statement, reiterated his desire and determination to work harmoniously with public servants in the state.

The state core civil servants are owned four months salaries, primary school teachers are owned nine months salaries, while local government workers have been on percentage payment since 2013.
