PORT HARCOURT— TRADE Union Congress, TUC, in Port Harourt, Rivers State, is set to picket the offices of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, over labour’s protest against the new tariff.
Chairman of TUC in Rivers State, Mr Chika Onuegbu, said yesterday, in Port Harcourt, that the exercise will take place on February 8, 2016, adding that committees had been set up to ensure it success.
Meantime, the electricity firm has again lamented the negative impact of energy theft in electricity distribution in the country.
Chief Executive Officer, PHED, Mr Jay Alan McCoskey, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that failure to pay electricity bills was affecting the whole chain of electricity distribution in the country.
