Demolished house of kidnap kingpin, Kelvin

OLOMORO—THERE is a twist in last Friday’s abduction of the Odio-Ologbo of Olomoro Kingdom, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, as sources revealed, yesterday, that it was the Regent, son of HRM Josiah Aghaza I, that kidnappers in fact abducted and not the 96-year-old traditional ruler.
However, the abductors have called the wife of the monarch asking for N20 million ransom, which they reduced to N5 million and further down to N4 million at press time.
A community leader confided in Vanguard: “I can confirm to you that the person kidnapped is the son, who is the Regent. By the Olomoro Customary Declaration, the son is the defacto traditional ruler. Therefore, it is correct that the traditional ruler of Olomoro is the person abducted. This was done because of the age of the monarch.”
Chairman, Isoko South Local Government Council, Mr. Malik Ikpokpo, who confirmed that the abductors reduced their ransom to N4 million, also said that the son of the monarch was the person kidnapped.
There were still fears in the community, yesterday, with the Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom, HRM Ogbogbo Ibuka I, describing the incident as regrettable.
