DELTA State chapter of Christian Association of Nigerian, CAN, has expressed concern over the increasing cases of kidnapping in the state, and called on security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities by checking the trend.

The body condemned the recent kidnap  and subsequent murder of the traditional ruler of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom, HRM Edward Ofulue III, as well as the alleged abduction of another monarch, the traditional ruler of Olomoro Kingdom, HRM Josiah Aghaza I, a  few days ago.

CAN warned those involved in the unholy act “to repent or be ready to face the wrath of the ‘soldiers of Christ’ in Delta State.”

In a statement by state Chairman of the association, Reverend Gideon Oyibo, CAN warned that should such occurrence persist in the state, it would not hesitate to mobilize Christians for appropriate massive actions against Fulani herdsmen, the alleged perpetrators of the act in the state.

Condoling with the royal family of Ubulu-Uku and the entire Ubulu-Uku Kingdom on the strange kidnapping and murder of their monarch, the association offered prayers for the immediate release of the kidnapped traditional ruler of Olomoro Kingdom.
