Asaba-THE father-in-law to the General Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Delta State chapter has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The victim, Mr. John  Ukperegbu, was  taken away at gun point from his residence at  Melekwe Street, Boji Boji Owa, at 7.30am on  Friday .

The Delta NMA scribe, Dr Henry Okwuokenye, who is married to the first daughter of the man, told our reporter, “We are pleading with them (kidnappers) to release him unhurt”.

Meanwhile, a senior accounts officer attached to Delta State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Dorothy Amafor, who was kidnapped in Asaba sometime ago, has been released.

She was forcefully taken away by a four-man gang at about 6.30pm a forth night ago along Tom Makwe Street off Ezenei in the state capital.

Delta State police command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) confirmed the release of the woman.
