The 15 commissioners and five Special Advisers appointed took their oath of offices before thousands of their supporters at the Multi-purpose banquet hall in Bauchi.
While congratulating the new commissioners and the Special Advisers on their appointments, Mohammed Abubakar urged them not to betray the trust of the people, just as he charged them to shun, corruption, sentiments, nepotism and to be God fearing in all their official functions.
He advised them to always reflect on their oath of office and treat all citizens of the state equally without regards to ethnic or religious affiliations.
“Demonstrate exemplary leadership and carry everybody along in your respective ministries. You are to see your offices as a call to duty and service of the people,” he said.
“Also create the necessary environment for civil servants to work and make the principles of equity, fairness and justice your watch word”
Mohammed Abubakar added “You are now on the verge of making history and the people of the state are watching your performance. You should be servants to the people rather than masters”
The Governor equally called on the people of the state to cooperate with the new appointees in order to make their duties easy.
