Dumebi Iheanacho stakes claim to national call-up

Canadian-based youngster, Dumebi Iheanacho is staking a claim to an invite to any of Nigeria’s junior teams.

Born July 5, 2000, the youngster who can play in the midfield or centre back for Cardinal Leger Secondary School, Brampton, Canada has been described by coaches who have trained him as a committed, highly motivated, respectful, focused, dependable, productive and resourceful player

Having started playing house league in 2005, where he was identified and accepted into All Stars mini league in 2006, Iheanacho captained his team to play at the highest levels for his age in Canada attracting great commendations

Described by his various coaches as a utility player due to his effectiveness as an attacker, midfielder and defender, Iheanacho, has promised to bring his productivity to the Golden Eaglets

“It would be thing of pride and honour if I am invited to the Golden Eaglets or Flying Eagles because my dream has always to play for my country and I am looking forward to getting an invite to contribute my quota to the national team project”, Iheanacho.

If invited to play for the Eaglets, Iheanacho, who set an all-time record in every aspect of the game both on and off the field during his one-year spell with North Mississauga Soccer Club will only be adding bite to Nigeria’s dream to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy for the third time in a roll, having previously won it in 2013 in UAE and 2015 I Chile.
