Former Speaker of  Delta State House of  Assembly, Mr Victor Ochei, has been honoured with an award  of   Outstanding and Consistent Compliance as an Individual Tax payer in the state by the Delta State Internal Revenue Board.

The award which was presented by the state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, at the Delta Songhai, Amukpe,  Sapele, was  part of a two-day stakeholders  retreat organised by the Board aimed at improving the internally generated revenue base of the state.

Earlier, Governor Okowa  enjoined Deltans to see tax payment as a necessary tool for enhancing the IGR profile of the state, which will impact on the social contract  between the government and the governed.
