By Gabriel Ewepu

ABUJA – THE National Coordinator, Bayelsa Youth Leaders Forum, Hon. Ben Nara Ogidi, has congratulated Governor Seriake Dickson on his re-election and described the victory as good omen for Bayelsans.

Ogidi said the re-election will spur the country-man governor to deliver more dividends of democracy to fulfil his campaign promises that will meet the expectation of the people.

Ogidi said: “We at Bayelsa Youth Leaders Forum, BYLF, congratulate Governor Seriake Dickson for his re-election by the great people of Bayelsa State. We also see it as a good omen for Bayelsans to have their humble and amiable governor back to Creek Haven for another four years to add value to their life.

“We appreciate also the former governor of the state and candidate of the All Progressives Congress for putting a good challenge and also urge him to accept the results of the election and join hands with the Governor who is the winner to move the state forward.

“Also we enjoin the youth who are supporters of the candidates to maintain the peace and those celebrating should not be violent but peaceful and mature. We are making this clear because of the tensed atmosphere in the state and anything to further aggravate it should be avoided.”

He also maintained that those who perpetrated electoral violence and attendant loss of lives should be brought to book.

Dickson was declared winner of the governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, after pulling a total vote of 134,998, while candidate of the APC, Chief Timipre Sylva emerged second with 86,852 votes.
