Lagos—The police, yesterday, charged two truck conductors, Ikechukwu Ukoha and Charles Onyekaziri, who allegedly stole eight 40-foot empty containers worth N6.1 million, before an Igbosere Magisrates’ Court, Lagos.
Ukoha, 42, and Onyekaziri, 36, who are of no fixed address, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing levelled against them by the police.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ibrahim Haruna, told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offences on September 22, 2015, at 2:30 p.m, at Tin-Can Island Apapa, area of Lagos.
He alleged that the defendants’ stole five 40-foot empty containers and three 20-feet containers valued at N6.1 million; property of SAPID Agency Ltd and Bollore African Logistic.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
