We don’t have resources to satisfy greed — Dickson

THE governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Timipre Sylva was conspicuously absent at the governorship election debate convened for the candidates of all the participating political parties in forthcoming election in Bayelsa State.

Only Serikae Dickson and Moses Siasia of the PDP, and Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM,  were at the debate. A source in the Sylva camp said the candidate was busy campaigning yesterday.

The two spoke on how they would pilot the state in the areas of agriculture, economy, security, diversification of the economy and employment generation.

According to Dickson: ‘’For more than three years, we have raised the bar on security, we have invested in critical infrastructure. The job is not finished yet. We are running a transparent regime on the revenue profile by curbing corruption. We don’t have the resources to satisfy the greed of some people. If we allow greed, Bayelsa will go back to where it was.”

On his part, Siasia said:  ‘’the diversification of our economy is long overdue. This is the time to diversify.  I believe that it is imperative that my government takes deliberate step on that.  In achieving that, we will focus on oil palm production, rice farming and plantain processing. As a people, we will have to build investors’ confidence to be able to achieve diversification.”
