YENAGOA—THERE was confusion, yesterday, at the office of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Bayelsa State Police Command, following the escape from custody of three notorious robbery suspects.

The suspects, identified as Ramsey Moses, Obi Clifford and Sele Pamodie, were arrested months ago over alleged robbery, rape and cultism in some parts of the state.

One of them was identified as the ring leader of a notorious gang of armed robbers terrorizing the Akenfa and Azikoro areas of the state capital.

Though details of the escape of the suspects are sketchy, their escape was said to have caused pandemonium at the special anti-robbery unit.

While some claimed the suspects escaped when they were sent to clean up the surroundings SARS premises, others claimed they escaped mysteriously using voodoo.

Contacted on the development, spokesman of the Police Command, Asimin Butswat, confirmed the escape of the three suspects, but said they were re-arrested few hours later at a hideout along the Azikoro area of the state capital.
