ABUJA—The Federal Government has sent the Director-General, D-G, Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, Dr. Christopher Anyanwu on suspension.

Sources said a letter suspending the D-G was issued to him by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,SGF, Alh Yayale Ahmed, yesterday’s evening.

He was asked to hand over to the most senior Director in the organization, a directive, Dr. Anyanwu was said to have complied with when he handed over to Ms. Bola Onagoruwa.

Although the letter of Dr. Anyanwu’s suspension was said to be silent on the reason for the action, sources said it might not be unconnected with the on-going NITEL privatization.
