ENUGU—Piqued by frequent bail-out requests from private airline operators on the Federal Government,Chairman,Peace Mass Transit,PMT,Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi, yesterday, lampooned airline operators, urging government to repair roads rather than plunge tax payers money into private businesses.
PMT boss, owner of a leading land transport company in the country was reacting to a publication in a section of the media credited to Jacky Hathiramani, MD/CEO of Dana Airlines who said that,”Airlines need to be motivated to perform long-term for the good of the country and to entice more travelers to go by air instead of road, as well as to stimulate commerce and tourism within the country too”.
Reacting to the comment,an angry Onyishi said,”I am shocked and surprised at the comment credited to Dana MD,hinging the frequent bail-out requests on federal government to enhance their services inorder to entice travelers who travel by road to now travel by air.
“If federal government listens to them,it means that government will use tax payers money who constitute 95.6 percent of the country’s population.
