Lagos State Football Association chairman, Taiwo Affinih has advised the Nigeria Football Association, NFA not to relent on the issue of hiring a sound technical adviser that will take the Super Eagles to the World Cup in South Africa in June.
“I want the NFF to go for a first class technical adviser, a coach that the players will respect and not just any white coach who has no pedigree in football. It is not every white coach that has something to give the team or bring transformation to the team†said Affinih.
Affinih said that even though he would have preferred an indigenous coach continues with the Eagles, in so far as the NFA have made up their minds to get a foreign technical adviser, they should do it on time because the time is too short to the World Cup.
“The World Cup is at hand, I think a serious country will start preparation now. As for me, I don’t believe much in the hiring of a foreign technical adviser but once the country say they want one, they should go on and hire and the NFA should not take much time in getting the coach. There is not much of preparation we can do now except to assemble a team and go to the World Cup, because it is late.
