“The team will resume training at the end of the month, which will be in three weeks, to prepare for a CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso and a number of friendlies in Europe,” an official informed yesterday.

“The players from the domestic league will form the preliminary squad with the foreign-based stars to join up in Europe.”

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are already in discussions with Cameroon FA, FECAFOOT, for a friendly during the FIFA-free window next month.

The home-based Eagles will also welcome their Burkina Faso counterparts in a 2016 CHAN qualifier between October 16-18 with the return leg between October 23 and 25 in Ouagadougou.

The overall winners of this tie will qualify for the African Nations Championship in Rwanda next year.
