Minna-The Anglican Bishop of Minna Diocese Rt. Reverend Daniel Yisa has called on Nigerians to give President Muhammadu Buhari a free hand to choose the right persons that he considers capable and upright that can can work with him and move the country forward.

Bishop Yisa made his stand known while addressing Journalists during the Silver Jubilee anniversary of Minna Diocese of the Anglican Church of Nigeria on Sunday adding that since the President is not binded constitutionally on the caliber of People to work with, it will be unfair to blame President Buhari for the appointments made so far.

This stand by the Bishop is coming on the heels of criticism that greeted the recent appointments of the President into key offices.

According to him “you do not know the kind of contributions these appointees have made to the success of the party (APC) and, or to the individual that won elections.

He asked,”Was geographical appointment part of the agreement from the beginning? Was there any agreement? Was it documented? So, on what grounds do you take somebody up when there is no agreement?

“The thing is, it will be unfair for me to accuse the President of not appointing people from one area. It is also difficult too for both the federal and state governments to pick up people because they want people of credible characters.”

He stated that past appointments made by Party Cheiftains and political god fathers had landed us in chaos and failure because most were not based on competence or capability but on party stronage adding that this s why the President should be given a free hand to choose those he feels he can work with and produce results.

Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee‎, Barrister Abraham Ndama Yisa called on Chritians to have a change of heart towards God’s work and also moving the Diocese forward pointing out that despite the increase of Dioceses to 165 across the country, the zeal of Christians of old towards the service of God is better compared to present day Christians who pursue more of their personal obligations than working or God
