Kaduna—Senator Shehu Sani (APC Kaduna central) said weekend that President Muhammadu Buhari would address the perceived imbalance in federal appointments, describing the South East as one of the most vibrant areas of Nigeria.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is President for all Nigerians and I am of the firm belief that he is sensitive to this issue and he is going to intervene to make sure that the south east is fully represented in government,’’ he said.

Sani spoke during the launch of his Talakawa Grassroot Revolutionary Development programme in Kaduna, a poverty alleviation measure for his constituency.

According to him, “The President is going to address the imbalance and the perceived marginalisation of some areas, especially the South East.”
There are still more appointments to come and I believe that Buhari will certainly address the issue because it is very sensitive as some Nigerians are truly aggrieved and he is going to ensure that the Igbo are fully represented in government.”

Sani described the poverty alleviation programme as cardinal to his agenda for the people aimed at intervention in the areas of health, education and skills acquisition, among other areas.

“I have started with an empowerment programme for tea sellers, tailors and the physically challenged. It is to see how I can utilise the opportunity of my office to intervene in the seven local government areas of my constituency and see how I can alleviate the problems of the masses who voted for us,’’ he said.
