The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has said that with the introduction of the integration of systems and certificates into Nigeria Integrated Customs Information System (NICIS), the era of shoddy deals and undercover transactions is over.

The Director General of SON, Dr. Joseph Odumodu, disclosed this in Lagos during a one-day workshop tagged “Trade Facilitation through Automation of SON’s Services” for stakeholders towards boosting import/export trade. he added that, the organisation wants to ensure that their members of staff do not engage in unwholesome transactions and sharp practices with companies, importers, associations or individuals.

He said “You will agree with me that cutting corners, fraudulent and unscrupulous acts would not only subvert and circumvent any organisation’s efforts but equally create bad blood.”
