Adefuye was a patriot, says Buhari

ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday decreed the late Nigerian Ambassador to the United States of America, Professor Adeola Adefuye as a patriot who made remarkable contributions to the development of the country.

President Buhari who spoke with the wife of the fallen ambassador on Saturday on phone also expressed shock over the death.

President Buhari recalled the valuable assistance and help offered by Adefuye during his recent official visit to the U.S.

He noted that the late ambassador was visible in all his engagements, explaining that he was proud to have had an encounter with Adefuye who he further described as “an ardently patriotic diplomat, who put higher national interest above partisan loyalty, and that his fine virtues should be emulated by other Nigerian leaders.”

President Buhari prayed to God to give the family fortitude to bear the loss and also accept the soul of the departed in His Bosom.
