UYO—Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa-Ibom State, yesterday, tasked indigenes of the state in the Diaspora to deploy their professional and creative energies to assist his administration to realise its industrialization policy and wealth creation agenda for the state.

According to a statement in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, Governor Emmanuel implored the 5th Global Congress of the Ibibio Peoples Union, IPU, in Dallas USA to give him all the necessary support to enable him deliver on his industrialisation and employment generation promises to the people.

He noted that his administration had already commenced a series of programmes and initiatives that would close skills gap and create wealth for the citizenry whilst pursuing infrastructural expansion, education and health care development.

The governor commended IPU and its leadership for organising the people in pursuit of the continued development and preservation of the cultural heritage of the people.

On his part, the Global President of IPU, Ikpafak t Udofia commended the governor for putting in place, people oriented programmes and assured that the IPU will lend its weight behind the lofty ideals of the administration.
