Akure—A 40-year-old father of four, Sunday Oladokun, was yesterday crushed by a petrol tanker along Ilesha-Owo Expressway in Akure, Ondo State.
Family members of the deceased, who is popularly known as Sunday Rewire, have called for justice.
The deceased, a mechanic, was heading home after the day’s job in Akure when the tanker rammed into his car around 7:30p.m.
Vanguard gathered that the deceased was coming from his workshop located at Agbogbo filling station, when the accident occurred.
He died instantly. The tanker and his mangled body were removed after sympathisers used axe to cut throught the wrecked car he was reported to have bought two months ago.
An eyewitness said the tanker driver overtook another vehicle and collided with the deceased’s car.
The accident reportedly halted free flow of traffic for hours just as officials of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and police raced to the scene of the crash.
Vanguard learned that the deceased corpse was later removed by the security agents and sympathisers.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has alleged that security operatives were trying to shield the driver of the tanker, with a view to pervert justice.
