Nigerians have been urged to embrace tech-power, as an alternative to power, as it has been proven to be a better source of energy generation in the developed world. Managing Director of Omatek company, Mrs. Florence Seriki made this statement in an chat with technology reporters, as the company unveiled varieties of new solar power solutions in Lagos recently.
The solutions included solar appliances, LED bulbs, inverters among others. Seriki said, the products are low-cost alternative power solution the company introduced to the market to aid customers in overcoming energy challenges in the country.
“We have solar hybrid alternative power solutions with the use of LED bulbs together with street lights and alternative power solution using Solar and LED technology.
Our solutions combine the benefits of the solar system and those of the LED technology to proffer solutions that reduce energy consumption considerably while saving costs by 80-85 per cent whilst providing 24-hour lighting solution, while making power available others thereby discouraging more dependence on the national grid,” Seriki said.
The MD admitted that the new 3 and 6.7 watts from the company replaces the conventional 40watts and 60watts respectively, thereby saving an appreciable power for other activities.
Seriki said this action was taken to meet the yearnings and desire of firms calling for more alternative sources of energy different from the conventional diesel and petrol. She said the company’s new 3, 10, 40, 50 KVA’s can service homes, schools and companies, and save hundreds of thousands of watts.
Because we have the SME’s as part of our target audience, she encouraged other household users, business organizations and other energy users to embrace the product in the market as the product is aimed at saving energy and guaranteeing maximum power supply.
She warned against overloading and use of heating metals as they have tendency to drain up the backup source of the tech engine.
