IYC slams Obasanjo over Jonathan

Yenagoa—THE Ijaw Youths Council ,IYC, yesterday, attacked   former President Olusegun Obasanjo over a statement credited to him against ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, describing same  as “reckless and baseless.”

IYC which noted that Obasanjo’s statement was a deliberate attempt to dent the good political image of former President Jonathan  while in office, maintained that if there was any region that ought to be haunted by the performance of ex-Nigerian President, it was the South West region and the Yoruba nation as former President Obasanjo’s performance in office was abysmal.

Spokesman of  IYC, Eric Omare in a statement in Yenagoa, regretted that the comment by Obasanjo was a deliberate effort to dent former President Jonathan’s image in the international community, adding “Obasanjo does not want anybody in Nigeria to be greater than him.”

Omare who insisted that the Niger Delta region was proud of the achievements of former President Jonathan in office, said that Jonathan’s five years in office was far better than Obasanjo’s eight years in office.
