The Management of Industrial Training Fund, (ITF) has dismissed insinuations of relocating its Headquarter from Jos in Plateau State to Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, (FCT).

In a statement, Director General, ITF, Mrs. Juliet Chukkas-Onaeko, maintained that Plateau remains the ITF headquarters, pointing out that the evacuation of  tenants from its six -story building in Abuja was part of plan to become and remain highly effective and functional in the execution of its mandate and objectives.

She further noted that the evacuation of occupants of the building was because of the need to expand the Model Skills Training Center (MSTC) of the agency, expand and integrate the functions of the Abuja Area office and the corporate office located in the building.

She added that the ITF have been collaborating with several international agencies and embassies in its quest to create and surpass the two million jobs it has set out to achieve.

Onaeko said that the ongoing activities at the Abuja office will create easier access for these international organisations partnering with the agency to relate and interact with the ITF.

According to her, “The people of the Plateau State do not have any reason to fear or be worried, neither do they have do anything that will lead to uproar as is being anticipated by those spreading the false rumours.”

The explanation become necessary, due to the persistent and unfounded rumours that it concluded arrangements to relocate the interventionist agency to Abuja, instead of Jos where the ITF has been headquartered since it was established in 1971, she said, adding “Most embassies and our partners are based in Abuja. Making all the offices in Abuja more functional will go a long way towards achieving our goal of creating two million jobs annually, while empowering the nation’s youths with technical and vocational skills easier at the same time,” she said.
