PORT HARCOURT—THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, has condemned the reported murder of Mrs Ebire Ejor, wife of former Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area of the state, Chief Ngowar Ejor.
Chairman of the party in Rivers State, Mr Felix Obuah, in a statement by his media aide, Mr Jerry Needam, said Mrs Ejor’s corpse was found on Tuesday at Eagle Island, in Port Harcourt, after her abduction on Sunday.
Lamenting the incident, the party expressed fears that the killing could have been politically motivated.
It further charged the police and other security agencies to beef up security in the state.
“The killing is unwarranted, barbaric and shocking to the PDP family. The manner she was abducted, and later killed clearly exposes political undertone in the sad incident,” the party said.
