PORT HARCOURT—The Judicial Commission of Inquiry constituted by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to look into the expenditure of the previous government  has called  for memoranda.

In a statement, Chairman of the Commission, Justice George Omeregi,  said that the submission of memoranda will end on July 10.

“Sequel to the appointment and inauguration of the Judicial Commission of  Inquiry for the investigation of the administration of Governor Rotimi Amaechi with respect to the sale of valued assets of Rivers State and other related matters, under the hand of the governor of Rivers State, the commission hereby calls for memorandum.

“The terms of reference of the Commission are: the sale of Omoku 150mw gas turbine, Afam 360mw gas turbine, Trans-Amadi 136mw gas turbine and Eleme 75mw gas turbine; the sale of Olympia Hotel; the Mono-rail Project; the non-execution of the contract for the construction of the Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte Specialist Hospital after the payment of the sum of $39.2million to the supposed contractor.”

“The disbursement or use by the Rivers State Ministry of Agriculture of the sum of N2billion Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme Fund and the withdrawal and expenditure of the accrued N96bn  from the Rivers State Reserve Fund without compliance with the Rivers State Reserve Fund Law No 2 of 2008.

“In view of the above, all affected and interested persons; the general public, corporate bodies, ministries, agencies, parastatals, groups and individuals are by this notice requested to submit 10 hard copies (printed) and one soft copy (on CD or flash drive) of written memorandum, typed, double spaced and addressed to the Secretary to the Commission, at the Commission Secretariat in the Chief Judge’s Ceremonial Court, High Court Complex, Rivers State Judiciary, Port Harcourt.

“Please take notice that the submission of written memorandum shall be for seven days, from the July 3 to July 10, 2015,” he added.
