BENIN—THE Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, yesterday, described as wicked and barbaric the continuous onslaught on churches and mosques perpetrated by the Boko Haram sect, saying that hell fire was the portion of the perpetrators.

PFN, in a statement in Benin City, Edo State, by its National President, Rev. Felix Omobude, said that places of worship were sacred and peaceful places where worshippers have fellowship with their creator, adding that attacks on such places must stop in the interest of Nigerians.

Reacting to the attacks on the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Yobe State, on July 5, the Jos attack and yesterday’s attack in Kaduna State, all of which led to the death of over 70 persons, PFN warned the masterminds of the attacks to desist from such acts and repent to avoid the wrath of God.

It admonished the President Muhammadu Buhari administration not to relent in its efforts to wipe out the insurgents so that the lives of Nigerians and foreigners will be secured.

“We also want to commend the efforts of our military in combating these evil acts. But for their efforts, the entire country would have been overwhelmed by the insurgents and that is why we will continue to pray for them and their families for their sacrifices,” Omobude said.

Condoling with the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and all those affected directly or indirectly by the series of bombings by the Boko Haram sect, Dr. Omobude urged Nigerians not to lose hope but to continue to pray to God for His divine solution to the security problem facing the country.
