Kanam (Plateau) – Alhaji Mu’azu Babangida, the Emir of Kanam in Plateau State has condemned the latest bomb blasts that rocked Jos metropolis and killed 44 persons and injured others.

The emir, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dengi, Plateau, described the blasts as “very unfortunate and callous.

“It is very unfortunate at a time when Muslims are fasting and praying to God for sustenance of peace and for blessings that some people are killing their fellow beings in cold blood.

“I condemn such an act in totality and pray that God will expose the perpetrators of such heinous and inhuman act.’’

Babangida called on government to provide more security for people at every point of gathering to forestall future attacks.

He said security checks should be intensified to ensure that whoever came around in any gathering, no matter his or her status, should be checked before being allowed to enter any premises.

He frowned at a situation where cars and motorcycles were being allowed to park close to places where people gathered.

“cars and motorcycles should be kept far away from any place that people gather so as not to give chance to criminals to attack innocent people,’’ he advised.

The emir commiserated with families of those who lost their loved ones in the blasts and prayed for quick recovery of the injured who were receiving treatment in various hospitals. (NAN)
