Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has rejected a bid from Chinese club, Hebei China Fortune as he prefers to remain in the English league with Watford.

Ighalo and the club officials held talks yesterday to discuss his future. Sky Sports reported that Watford had received a £10m offer for the striker from Chinese first division side Hebei China Fortune, which was discussed in Saturday’s meeting.

Ighalo scored 20 times in 38 appearances for the Hornets last season. His haul last season included four goals in the 7-2 victory over Blackpool in January and, with Chinese clubs pushing for new recruits from England this summer – capturing Tottenham’s Paulinho for Guangzhou Evergrande – Ighalo’s goal-scoring has been noticed by Hebei, who finished 14th in the Chinese second tier.

Hebei are managed by former Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona head coach Raddy Antic, who played for Luton in the 1980s.

Watford have been busy in the transfer market already, bringing in Austria defender Sebastian Prodl, goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis and attacker Matej Vydra on a permanent deal from Udinese.
