Aba—A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Okwuonu, has said it was too early to criticize President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and urged critics to allow him settle down fully in office.
In a chat with Vanguard in Aba, Okwuonu said Buhari, who was only a month old in office, should be supported to fully settle down, and warned critics to be patient with him.
He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari needs some time to settle down. It is too early to criticize his government.
‘’These changes should come in the next two years. He (Buhari) should be given time for his policies and programmes to mature before they are translated into the desired changes.”
While commending the President for his determination to combat corruption, Okwuonu called for political offices in the country to be made less lucrative.
“We need to make political offices less lucrative if we are to reduce corruption to its barest minimum. People do everything in their desperation to get into political offices because they are sure of amassing wealth.
‘’Let the people who have the passion and capacity to offer service get into political positions,” he added.
