Lagos—Two men were, yesterday, arraigned before Apapa Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for alleged theft of N212,500.

The defendants, Ahmed Ibrahim, 28, and Lekan Sule, 27, of no fixed addresses, are facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing preferred against them by the police.

The prosecutor, Supol Olu Ojaokomo, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on June 18, 2015, at Alaba Oro Bus-Stop, Apapa, Lagos.

He also said the defendants stole the sum of N122,500 cash,one Blackberry hand-set valued at N65,000, and one Nokia 101 hand-set valued N25,000, totalling N212,500, property of one Olawole Omotayo.

According to the prosecutor, the offences are punishable under sections 409 and 285 of the criminal laws of Lagos State Nigeria 2011.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

The magistrate, Mr. P.A Adekomaya granted the defendants’ bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties in like sum. He adjourned the case till July 22,2015.
